The majority of sales in Birmingham during the last year were terraced properties, selling for an average price of £165,365. Semi-detached properties sold for an average of £205,147, with flats fetching £158,738.

Birmingham, with an overall average price of £193,346, was similar in terms of sold prices to nearby Birmingham City Centre (£192,846), but was more expensive than Sparkhill (£146,421) and Small Heath (£127,560).

Overall sold prices in Birmingham over the last year were 3% up on the previous year and 16% up on the 2015 level of £166,273, says Rightmove.

The average price for property in Birmingham stood at £203,606 in November 2018. This is a fall of 0.82% in the last three months (since August 2018) and rise of 2.22% since 12 months ago.
