Northfield Area Guide
Northfield is a small residential area on the southern outskirts of metropolitan Birmingham and near the boundary with Worcestershire. It is also a council constituency, managed by its own district committee.
The constituency includes the wards of Kings Norton, Longbridge, Weoley Castle and the smaller ward of Northfield that includes West Heath and Turves Green. Northfield has played a significant role in Birmingham’s development over the decades. The early 1900s saw the establishment of an Austin Rover factory in Northfield which would go on to produce MG Rovers a hundred years later.
Residents of Northfield can enjoy a wide range of leisure activities including spending many happy hours in Northfield Shopping Centre. The centre is home to all of your favourite High Street brands. Avoid shopping till you drop by visiting one of Northfield’s selection of leisure centres where you can keep fit by swimming, working out or mixing the two.
