Coventry is the fourth best city in UK for students

The West Midlands city has been named the 44th best city for students by data experts QS, where London is the best city in UK with the 5th position. It was also recognized as ‘University of the Year 2015’ by the Times Higher Education Magazine.

The University of Coventry is the pride of its city. It has recently made a huge investment to improve facilities for both staff and students. In the Times Higher Education (THE) Awards it was appraised for its focus in research and learning centred in students and its efforts to make higher education more affordable and accessible.

In addition, the University has motivated the regeneration of Coventry city centre and has helped the local economy by collaborating with small and medium-sized enterprises in the city. Our estate agents in Coventry can confirm that the city has become a more desirable place to live thanks to its university.

Data experts QS have a ranking to score cities based on opportunities for graduate employment, affordability, the quality of universities and quality of life. In the top 75 we can find eight British cities:

  • London (5th)
  • Edinburgh (33rd)
  • Manchester (36th)
  • Coventry (44th)
  • Nottingham (57th)
  • Glasgow (63rd)
  • Birmingham (66th)
  • Newcastle (67th)

Having Coventry in the fourth position and Birmingham in the seventh is something to celebrate. Coventry has beaten cities like Rome and even Washington. The top position in this ranking was for Paris, followed by Melbourne, Tokyo and Sydney.

Coventry University is one of the very few institutions to offer a course about automotive design, while the University of Warwick has a centre dedicated to supporting innovative collaborations between academia and industry, with a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Moreover, Warwick University’s Arts Centre stands out for being one of the largest arts centres in the UK, with many galleries, performance spaces and a cinema.

As well as a great university, Coventry has much more to offer to students who decide to study and live in this city, such as several theatres, art galleries, and a number of large venues to enjoy music concerts or major sports events.
