New images have been released of the £100 million mixed-use development on the edge of the Jewellery quarter in Birmingham City Centre. To be known as Great Charles Place, the development will be Birmingham’s first private rented sector (PRS) scheme.
To be built on the city council’s Ludgate Hill Car Park, the £55 million first phase of Great Charles Place will include 320 apartments ranging from studios to three bedrooms, 20,000 sq ft of ground floor retail, leisure space and a mix of business units (totalling 8,000 sq ft). These apartments will benefit from 24-hour security, porter service, a communal garden and shared roof terraces.
With the Great Charles Place construction beginning in January 2016, the £750m revamped New Street station, a £100m Snow Hill Station scheme unveiled last month and Primark’s plans to carry out a wholesale regeneration of the Bullring, living in Birmingham has never been so appealing.
